Cookie Policy

1. Cookies and Similar Technologies

JuomaInfo uses cookies and similar technologies where they are needed for the service to work, for security and to remember choices the visitor makes. JuomaInfo does not use Google Analytics or any other analytics tool, and does not use advertising cookies. Purchase attribution and the tracking of the affiliate network Adtraction are not in use, and at present no technology is used on the basis of the visitor’s consent. 2. What Are Cookies?

A cookie is a small piece of data stored in a browser or device. Similar technologies may include local storage, session storage, technical identifiers and server-side event data.

3. Purposes

  • Necessary: technical operation and security of the service, protection against misuse, remembering the age confirmation and the chosen language, and keeping a chat conversation together while the visitor uses the chat.
  • Newsletter invitation: the visitor’s choice to close or answer the newsletter invitation is not stored in the browser. It lasts only while the page is open; after the page is reloaded the invitation can be shown again.
  • Links to sellers: when a visitor follows a link to a seller, JuomaInfo’s server counts the click for statistics (the seller and the time, without IP address or browser data) and forwards the visitor to the seller’s ordinary address. Nothing is stored in the visitor’s browser for this purpose. JuomaInfo does not add a purchase-attribution identifier to the link. When you visit the seller’s website, the seller receives your browser’s request and processes the associated information under its own privacy policy. No purchase is attributed to JuomaInfo or to a partner. The seller may use its own cookies under its own policy.
  • Affiliate network (Adtraction): not in use.
  • Analytics and advertising: not used. JuomaInfo does not use Google Analytics or any other analytics tool. If any other optional technology is introduced, it is activated only with the visitor’s consent and this policy is updated.

4. Consent

JuomaInfo’s own technologies. Under section 205 of the Finnish Act on Electronic Communications Services (917/2014), information may be stored on the visitor’s device or read from it without consent where this is strictly necessary to provide a service the visitor has explicitly requested. JuomaInfo’s own technologies listed in section 7 meet that condition, each for its own reason:

  • age confirmation (`juomainfo.age_ok`): necessary so that the content is shown in compliance with the rules on alcohol marketing, which require the visitor to confirm being 18 or older; kept for 12 months, after which the confirmation is asked again;
  • language (`juomainfo.locale`): stored only when the visitor chooses a language, so that the service is shown in that language; kept for 12 months;
  • session storage (`juomainfo.chat`, `tsr-scroll-restoration-v1_3`): keeps together a chat the visitor starts and restores the scroll position when the visitor goes back to a page; deleted when the browser tab or session ends;
  • security cookie `__cf_bm`: necessary to protect the service against automated traffic; kept for 30 minutes.

No technology based on consent. At present no technology is used on the basis of consent, so there is no consent choice and no "Cookie settings" link.

Planned changes

Before JuomaInfo’s own purchase attribution or Adtraction’s affiliate tracking is introduced, visitors will be given a clear choice to accept or reject each of them separately, a permanent "Cookie settings" link will be added to the footer of every page, and this policy will be updated and published before the tracking starts. Before any other optional technology is introduced, the visitor will be asked for consent in the same way.

5. Changing Choices

At present no technology is used on the basis of consent, so there is no consent choice to change. Once the choice described in section 4 has been added, consent can be given and withdrawn at any time through the "Cookie settings" link. Clearing this site’s data in the browser removes the stored values, after which the age confirmation is asked again.

6. Retention

Retention varies by purpose. The period of each technology is shown in the list in section 7.

7. Technologies Used

  • `juomainfo.age_ok` (local storage, JuomaInfo). Remembers that the visitor has confirmed being 18 or older. Kept for 12 months, after which the confirmation is asked again. Necessary (rules on alcohol marketing).
  • `juomainfo.locale` (local storage, JuomaInfo). Remembers the language the visitor has chosen; set only by the visitor’s own choice. Kept for 12 months. Necessary (a function the visitor requests).
  • `juomainfo.chat` (session storage, JuomaInfo). Keeps a chat conversation together while the visitor uses the chat. Deleted when the browser tab or session ends. Necessary for the chat the visitor starts.
  • `tsr-scroll-restoration-v1_3` (session storage, set by the site’s software framework). Restores the scroll position when the visitor goes back to a page. Contains no personal data. Deleted when the browser tab is closed. Necessary.
  • `__cf_bm` (cookie on the platform’s server addresses, supabase.co and api.juomainfo.fi, set by Cloudflare for the database provider Supabase). Distinguishes people from automated traffic and protects the service. Kept for 30 minutes. Necessary (security).
  • Administrators only: `sb-zeszrebqbwqzxblwdxqg-auth-token` (local storage, JuomaInfo administration). Sign-in session of staff who sign in to the administration. Not set for visitors. Kept until sign-out. Necessary.

8. Third-Party Services

External sellers and services may use their own cookies under their own policies. JuomaInfo cannot control the cookies of external websites. When a visitor follows a link to a seller, the link leads to the seller’s ordinary address; JuomaInfo adds no reference to it (section 3).

9. Transfers Outside EU/EEA

The security cookie `__cf_bm` is set by Cloudflare, which operates a global network as a sub-processor of the database provider Supabase and processes the visitor’s IP address for this purpose. Any transfers are handled using mechanisms and safeguards required by applicable data-protection law; see the Privacy Policy.

10. Browser Settings

Cookies and stored values may be deleted or blocked through the browser, although this can affect functionality. For example, the age confirmation is then asked again.

11. Changes

The policy is updated as technology or providers change. New consent is requested where required.
